How escape rooms work

Your team is locked in a themed room and has to find clues and solve puzzles to get out, usually within 60 minutes. A game host watches and gives hints if you get stuck. Most rooms have a minimum age, and younger players often need an adult in the team.

Picking a room

  • Choose a beginner or family room for your first go.
  • Check if the theme is scary. Horror rooms often have higher age limits.
  • Look at group sizes: most rooms take 2 to 6 players.
  • Mobile escape games and puzzle boxes are a cheaper option at home.
