Scout’s tip

Scout’s high-wire tip

Course rules (age, height, weight and supervision ratios) decide what your family can do together. Check them before you book, not on the day.

  • Wear trainers and sporty clothes
  • Tie back long hair
  • Book early for holidays

Treetop courses

Treetop adventure courses, such as Go Ape, have rope bridges, ladders and zip wires through the forest, with junior courses for younger children. You’re clipped on throughout, and instructors brief you first.

Giant zip lines

Zip World runs big zip lines in Wales and the Lake District, alongside underground and trampoline adventures. Bigger rides usually have higher minimum ages and weight limits.

Before you book

  • Under-16s often need a participating adult.
  • Courses can close in high winds or storms.
  • Tell staff about medical conditions.
