Thanksgiving Day
- Parades: many cities hold Thanksgiving parades. Arrive early for a good spot, or watch on TV.
- Turkey trots: family-friendly fun runs and walks on Thanksgiving morning, often raising money for charity.
The weekend
- Get outdoors: a walk in a state or national park.
- Museums: the Smithsonian is free. See more free US days out.
- Holiday lights and skating rinks often open around now.
- Theme parks begin their holiday seasons. See Disney.
